You're Invited

I can hardly believe that it was almost a year ago that my baby boy rushed into this world and next month he celebrates his first birthday!

I've promised myself that I will TRY not to cry! Not that I expect to be able to keep this promise since I cried when his umbilical cord stump fell out (he was growing up too fast for me) and I cried all the way to and all the way back from his first day at daycare! I suspect that there will be many more tears to come but ohhh they are so worth it just for one of his cheeky smiles!

Today I got busy and decided that it was time to do his party invitations and boy did we have a ball! One cupcake, several photos and a nap later, I came up with this:

I can't wait ! I hope you like it as much as I do!

Newborn Sweetness

I love newborn sessions! For me, it's not only an opportunity to meet some lovely new faces and families, but I get to reminisce about not so long ago when my little man was that small. It never ceases to amaze me how perfect each new baby is.....Yes I'm getting clucky again!

Last weekend I got to meet little J. He was just perfect in every way and I had trouble parting with him but his Mum insisted on taking him home with her. As you can see, they are totally in love with each other....Awww..

and he fits perfectly in mummy's arms.

This was my favourite shot of the day. I love the eye contact and that sweet little half smile.

I may not have been able to take him home with me, but lucky me, I have another newborn session this weekend! Gotta love my job!

Perfect Bump

I don't know what it is about the changing seasons, but it always seems that a change in the weather brings with it a battalion of germs and my household has been hit hard this month. My poor baby boy was sick, sick, sick and then hubby followed suit and then to top it all off, I ended up with tonsillitis...YUCK!

Enough about my woes, I have actually been busy and will be posting more of Perth's best looking babies very soon but right now I want to show off one very Yummy Mummy in waiting.

When I met N and saw her beautiful baby bump, I got so excited....such a perfect bump! And she was such a breeze to work with. Willing to try my ideas and an ideal model. Then there was her Hubby A who was just a champ! I love his tattoos! See for yourself:

The perfect bump...

...full of love.

I love the catch light and sense of motion in this picture.

A different angle

You gotta love a man who loves Mickey...

A wanted a family picture with his Fur Baby Texas. Love it.

I can't wait to meet their little one in a few weeks time.
I must learn patience
I must learn patience

Time Flies

Oh My... Has it a month since my last blog?

My sincere apologies but this last month has been somewhat chaotic in my household. My in laws arrived back from their overseas holidays and stayed with us until they overcame their jet-lag and then there was school holidays when we had one of our beautiful nieces (hubby and I have five nieces and one nephew) stay with us for a week and now both of my men have a cold!

Aside from the rather chaotic family life, Violet and I have now finished our show special and will be advertising our Christmas special any day now, so stay tune for more. In the mean time, check out these cuties from a few weeks ago.

Miss A1 (A names are very popular at the moment) is such a beautiful little girl with such a gentle nature... Can you see it in her eyes?

Safe in Daddy's arms...

Peeka...boo.

Miss A2 is just how I love my babies. So chubby and yummy. If I ever have a little girl, I want her to be just like this....

Check out her cheeks...

Can you believe how beautiful she is?

But don't let that face fool you...this little one's got attitude!

Miss A3 was anything but camera shy. She just smiled and smiled and smiled through the whole session and when she smiles, she just lights up the room.

But there was time for a serious moment.

But that didn't last long.

Next up was Mister J. Check him out Mums because he's bound to break a few hearts in his life time.

I love, love, love his kissie lips.

and yes...he has a drop dead smile to complete to look... watch out ladies!

Last up for this session was little Miss S. She's such an angel.

I love her cute little nose.

and here eyes are so beautiful. Lucky duck!

I have a few more pics to post very soon and I'll also be posting the Christmas specials as well, so stay tuned.

Sweetie Pie

Today I had a photo session with a real sweetie pie. Miss E was just so lovely and full of smiles for me today....in fact, she was hamming it up for the camera. I think we have a future actress in the making. Here are some pics from today's session:
Too cute..

My favourite pic from today, love this cheeky expression:

Did she just roll her eyes at me?

All right Miss E. I forgive you. With a smile like that, how could I not?

Happy Fathers Day

Happy Fathers Day all you wonderful Dads out there!

Today was as perfect as you could get for me. My boy woke me up with the biggest smile on his face and then we spent the morning on our daily walk around the neighbourhood. The sun was shining and birds were chirping and even Pudpud (the cat that adopted us) was particularly affectionate today. Then when hubby woke up, our little guy surprised him with some new shirts and daddy's favourite chocolate...Toblerone. Then we went for a drive and bought some fish and chips which we shared under a shady tree at Trigg Beach followed by a family stroll along the beach front. Yes....it was a perfect day.

As it was Daddy's day, he requested that no photos be taken of him today so I obliged. However, here's one of my hubby when he was around the same age as our little guy is now:

Can you see the similarities?

Spring is in the air

I love spring. For me, it's the ideal season. Lovely warm days to enjoy, punctuated by the occasional rain. The grass still looks lovely and green from the winter's rain and it's warm enough that you can go out and enjoy it and let's not forget the beautiful flowers that come into bloom in spring.

Now, I'm not much of a gardener myself, but I only had to look in my own backyard to be rewarded by nature's beauty and I thought I'd take this opportunity to share these with you.

Nothing says "Spring" like a yellow daisy:

and these freesias are just divine:

I have no idea what these flowers are but they remind me of cherry blossoms:

Who knew life could be so sweet?

Feel the Love

Sorry if I've been neglecting this blog, but I've been having way too much fun :)

Last Saturday, Violet and I had our first session together from the Pregnancy, Babies and Children's Expo! I was so excited I could hardly sleep the night before and we had so much fun.

Yes we love kids of all ages (even big ones) but one of the hidden gems of doing what we do is having the opportunity to meet and get to know the families of these dear little ones and seeing just how much love they have for each other. For us, it's a real privilege to be able to witness a small part of that and if I've done my job right, I get to capture this for all to see. So here goes; some pics from Saturday:

First up was Miss A. and her stunning eyes:

This little one was just so well behaved I'm sure that she's destined to be a super model. And her smile could melt the polar ice caps. Check it out for yourself:

I think her Daddy's going to have a hard time keeping the boys away when she's older!

Then we had Charlie's angels. These cousins were so full of energy and certainly made me work but it's pretty obvious that there's a lot of love in this family:

and starkissess all around:

Yep, Daddy didn't miss out either:

Next came this lucky Boy, Mister D. He came with his two big sisters and a cousin who just all adore him! And we can all see why:

And that cheeky smile that's bound to break a few hearts:

But sometimes being this darn cute can be all too much:

Next up were two brothers who I just couldn't get enough of. Big brother N was so patient and caring toward little brother K. And boy was this kid smart and cute and so much fun! Check out the brotherly love:

And little brother K was loving him right back....

So Cute!

Last up for the day was little miss L who is just so lucky to have such loving parents. She cried when I picked her up but just look at how she behaves for her daddy:

And she even managed a smile for him:

And at the end of the day, what else was a girl to do but cuddle up to her favourite man:
Can we say Awww.

I Believe

O.K. I admit it....it's no secrete really....but I'm a tomboy! Growing up, I preferred to get down and dirty in the sand pit with my brother's toys than to have a tea party with dolls. My brother got a skate board one Christmas and just couldn't wait to try it out! Then there was the year he got a BMX for his birthday...boy did that bike go fast. My parents tried in vain to get me to be more "lady like" but never succeeded, so they eventually gave up and turned their efforts to my sister instead. She did not disappoint and my parents at last had a little girl in the family.

But to my defence, the 80's really wasn't a very feminine era (am I showing my age?). Think about it. There was Transformers, He-man, Night rider, Dukes of Hazard and really big shoulder pads.....at least that's my recollection of the 80's.

Now, if they had half the cute girly things in the 80's that they have now, I may very well have turned out to be a different person(think fairy wings and tiaras). Anyway, now that I'm the grown up and the only girl in the household, I've decided to become more in tune to my inner "girly" child. So when I saw these wings yesterday, I just had to have them. They are very small but sooo cute.

And here's some more from my collection...

Oh, by the way...Yes, I believe!
